Meeting Minutes
October 5, 2011
I. Call
to order
Mark Williams called to order the regular meeting of the Historical
Society in Cleveland County at 5:30pm on October 5, 2011. The following persons were
present: Mark Williams, Vernon Maddux, Kelly Guinn, Sue Schrems, Barbara
Million, Binx Mills, James Briggs, Erin Smith, and Angela Gutierrez
Visitor: Laura Dean – Previous volunteer
II. Treasurer’s
Report
Vernon presented the Report.
$2014.00 per month basic pay
$3,503.37 Restoration funds
$24,555.15 Grant Money
$1568.30 Gift shop for Sept.
$40.00 was spent for Christmas
$2032.88 total expenses for Sept.
$32,294.65 in the Rainy Day fund
III. Curator’s
Report
a) Store &
Finance – Angela and Erin attended the Overholser Mansion’s concert and sold
$31.00 in products.
b) Programs
& Events – Christmas Open House is Dec 9th from 6 to 10pm. The
WWII exhibit is Feb 10 from 6 to 10pm.
c) Volunteers
& Personnel – Students are helping with WWII research. Bob Rice is allowing
us to scan his collection of Norman photos.
d) Membership
& Fundraising – The NAC Roundtable meeting went over grant opportunities. A
possible meeting over the utilities is suggested with other non-profit
organizations. There was discussion regarding charging admission.
e) Publicity
& Newsletter – Newsletter has been sent out with leaflets expressing our
need to clean the draperies. The winter
newsletter will be sent out two (2) weeks before the Christmas open house.
IV. Committee
Reports
a) Riley
Million presented logo’s. The board voted on using the seal for our logo.
b) Christmas –
Budget $500.00 approved
c) House
completion celebration – The City Council is being invited
d) Garage Sale
– Is pending for either 3/24/2012 or 04/07/2012
